Thats presently ignored

A jaw-boned vulture preys on a mercury heart
The barbed-wire joints of old age slowly tears us all apart
A valiant last stand thats lasting much too long

A single suffered from your singular defense
And particles of past history slip in the present tense
A buried hatchet thats sure to bury me
