In the mid 1960's, Simon Stokes released several 45s but under group names such as the Flower Children, Heathen Angels and The Nighthawks. In 1973, when he released his first album as "Simon Stokes And The Black Whip Thrill Band".

None of these bands yielded any success, so he decided to record a solo single, "Captain Howdy", which made it to #90 in 1974.

Albums in 1977, 1996 and 2002 went by the wayside as well. Since 2002, there hasn't been much info on his current endeavors.
