Ahmet Ertegun Tribute from the Rock Hall (1923 - 2006) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 13, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Ahmet Ertegun is considered one of the most significant figures in modern recording history. He co-founded Atlantic Records with Herb Abramson in 1947 and brought 50s R&B legends to the label's roster, including Big Joe Turner, Ruth Brown, Ray Charles and The Drifters. In the 60s and 70s, Ertegun helped manage acts like Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Aretha Franklin. Ahmet is one of the co-founders of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and the Rock Hall's main exhibition hall is named in his memory.

It's been 10 years since his passing and we're remembering Ahmet and all of his contributions to the Rock Hall, the Foundation, Atlantic Records and the music industry in general.
