The Seven Deadly Sins are an Edinburgh based band formed by singer/songwriter Alex Moran in early 2010. Moran was joined by bassist Kevin Turner, lead guitarist Euan Moran and drummer Nic Ross.
Since their debut on the Scottish live circuit in September 2010 The Seven Deadly Sins have supported Spectrals, The Damned, The Icarus Line, Glasvegas, Elliot Brood and Doll & The Kicks.
The band have played and headlined several of Edinburgh and Glasgow's most acclaimed venues such as King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Liquid Room, Barrowlands 2, Sneaky Pete's, The Captains Rest, Cabaret Voltaire, The Voodoo Rooms, Electric Circus in addition to a number of Scottish Festivals.
Since September 2011 the band have been organising and promoting their own monthly shows at Cabaret Voltaire and Sneaky Pete's, entitled 'A Deadly Night Out.' The Seven Deadly Sins choose their own support artists; open the evenings with a small acoustic/rarities set and then return to play an electric headline set.
Within months of forming, The Seven Deadly Sins received an invite to record three singles with London-based management company The Animal Farm. They began recording in the capital during summer 2010.
Early in 2011, The Seven Deadly Sins recorded two tracks at the famous Ca Va Sound studios in Glasgow (where Belle & Sebastian, The Fall and Mogwai have recorded). They recently returned to Ca Va to record with Geoff Allan on 6 new tracks.
In the last eighteen months The Seven Deadly Sins have released three music videos for 'Work Me like a Dog,' 'Silver & Gold' and '21st Century Man' which was shot in Manhattan, New York. These are all directed, edited and graded by well-known Hollywood visual effects guru Ivan Moran (has worked on the visual effects for such films as The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring) and London based film maker Henry Stafford.
The Seven Deadly Sins self released their debut EP 'Misery Lake' in June 2012 and to coincide their 4th music video 'Yesterday' which was shot in London, Southend on Sea & Edinburgh.
