Story Behind the Video:
"Secrets" is the second single from the new Rust on the Rails album, Talisman. It was filmed in one single day at a secret location. The song started with Cody as an idea he was messing around with. We began constructing what was soon to become one of our more deep, almost dark songs. The lyrics had to be strong for such a song that escalates rather quickly. So, we talk about love. Secrets. Relationships. It became apparent that the song needed more, so after having Eric Miller (bass) and Chris Lucier (drums) work out their parts, we enlisted well known Seattle composer and violinist Andrew Joslyn to write and perform all the string parts. Honestly, it made the song. It gave it a majestic, cinematic feel.

When we started figuring out what we wanted for this video, we knew we had to go big. The song needed a perfect backdrop, and we found one! We are not allowed to talk about the location, so lets just admire it for what it is - a beautiful property. The storyline could have gone a few different ways. We needed a female actress (Samantha McFarlen), and we needed to figure out who was the husband and who was the creepy guy! Not only that, but we had to figure out what actually is her secret? Is it the creepy guy? If so, what is he? Death? A figment of her imagination? We know what we think is wrong with her and who he is, but we left it open enough so that you would all relate however you feel. What does it mean to you?
