The Placebo Effect - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 01, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
This is a song I wrote called "The Placebo Effect", and it's about death and how we live our lives pretending like it isn't going to happen. I recorded this song for my album, so I already had all the parts recorded. I just deleted the ones I wanted to play and rerecorded them for this version.

Lyrics:
Cartoons only fall when they realize
There's nothing underneath them
And patients only get better
When the doctors fake a treatment
So come pretend with me
Pretend like we never found out
And maybe if we're convincing enough
We'll forget this ever happened

The ticking clock, the end of time
Is approaching ever nearer
A miracle, a breakthrough
And the worst choice of my life
The sleeping mimes, the lab rats
And my own mortality
My life summed up in 11 digits
On a flashing LED

I can't take it anymore
Now that I've realized
We're getting picked off one by one
By the devil we call time
So come pretend with me
Pretend like he never found out
And maybe if we're convincing enough
We'll forget everything

The pills take over and I feel fine
They're filled with sugar and I feel fine
