As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God? (Psalm 42:1~2)

Fleeing from the chase of his son Absalom, David was in the same situation of a deer who was being hunted by a wild animal. David was on the run. David was being hunted by his own son.
