The Normandy Guitars Alumicaster used in this video should need no introduction if you are a regular visitor to my channel. It's made of aircraft-grade aluminium and I love it dearly. However, I'm a picky bastard and I was having a problem with the pickups' 'twang' factor. The guitar was in for a service with my friend and well known Melbourne luthier, David Paul, and David suggested we try some of his own "Orpheus Pickups" A3's in it. I'm glad he did! The Orpheus Pickups have twang, balance, and they sing like tough little songbirds. I'm very impressed. As usual, I hit the record button to save for posterity my first real outing with these new pickups. I ran them into the ubiquitous 'Twin' amp rig on my Axe-FX II and let rip. I think the video and audio results speak for themselves.
