Ack! I'm sorry about missing last week, life has been busy in good, if somewhat overwhelming, sort of way. I imagine this will continue until I finish a play I'm working on. Sorry about that.

"Slinky" is one of those songs that really resonated with me from the first listen. This is the second song in a row for me to pull of that compilation disc I bought a few weeks ago. I can already say that Belly dance Underground was well worth the price, even if it did repeat a few songs from other collections.

"Slinky" is not a fast song. In fact, it is gorgeously languid in its rhythm and tone. The music makes me think of an underwater scene, clothed in blues and green where flora of the ocean bottom gently moves back and forth in the tide. While this song has no time for fast moves, it makes up for it by being in the moment with every note.
