The MT's (aka The Mighty Typhoons) zijn ontstaan vanuit een gedeelde passie voor instrumentale vuige r'n'b, vroege funk, boogaloo en popcorn. De musici hebben reeds hun sporen verdient in bands als Rude Rich & High Notes, WestHell 5, Juice Box, New Cool Collective, The Spinshots, Bongomatic, The Pacifix, etc... Met de bezetting van tenorsax, baritonsax, trompet, orgel, guitar, bass, drums en percussie betreden de heren als een groep jonge honden het podium om daar ultieme groove-sets neer te zetten.. Enkele inpiratiebronnen: Willie Mitchell, Louis Prima/Sam Buttera, Willis Jackson, Ray Charles, Mongo Santamaria, Brother Jack McDuff & JB!
