DESCRIPTION:
In this video, I introduce the Merle Travis style of guitar playing.

The Travis style differs from Chet Atkins, and other Fingerstyle guitarists, because the bass strings are brushed. The 6th and 5th strings are played on beat 1, followed by the brushing of the 4th and 3rd strings on beat 2.

The melody is played by the index finger, while the other fingers rest on the guitar top.
