The Makem and Spain Brothers, down one Makem, performed this rendition of the Jolly Beggarman. Being as I perform this one, I was especially happy to hear it because I don't here many people do it these days. The song is said to be about the adventures of one king who would go about dressing as a beggar seeking shelter in homes and then having his way with woman. In this particular song it sings of a particular instance of that.
