NEW SOLO ALBUM 'SHY AWAY' FROM JOHN CARRIE COMING SOON !
John Carrie and Moor Green are a four piece acoustic-rock band based in Holland fronted by Irish singer and songwriter John Carrie.The band consists of Gary Leatherland on drums, Karl Griffiths on bass and Sjoerd Spoelstra on keys and other gadgets.
Their debut album 'Folk is not Happy' was released in April 2007 to much critical acclaim.Dutch music magazine OOR :"Ben Christophers, Jeff Buckley,The Prayer Boat, Neil Young,but different. But in that order of goosebumps'.
Last year, the band released their second studio album "Clearing Air" (pias 2010). Again the band got plenty of positive attention from the press and the album was chosen as "No Risk Disk" by Hollands leading record store Plato Mania. Again OOR said :
'Also in terms of rawness, darkness, and sometimes hippy content this CD brings this Irishman a step closer to that of eternal fame.Great band!'
To date John Carrie has toured with Irish legends The Cranberries, Xavier Rudd and supported artists like Scott Matthews and The Kings of Leon.
The band have diverse influences but passion and an honest approach to music is what drives them the most.
John Carrie also performs as a solo artist delivering intimate soulful ballads, lyrically rich and touching and with backing band Moor Green these songs are transformed into energetic rhythmical musical voyages.
