DESCRIPTION:
My favorite version of this oft-recorded song. Did not chart nationally in Billboard, but released as a single in March 1969. The members of the Honeys were Marilyn Wilson, Diane Rovell and Ginger Blake. Produced by Brian Wilson. This song had been a #1 hit for Gene Austin in 1927, #5 for Franklyn Baur in 1926, #11 for Irving Kaufman in 1926, and #11 for Roger Wolfe Kahn & His Orchestra in 1927. In 1956, it also charted #4 Billboard Pop for Patience and Prudence in August (#28 UK), #15 for Lawrence Welk with the Lennon Sisters and #49 for Karen Chandler & Jimmy Wakely. Later, it charted at #30 on the Country chart for Dottie West in 1977.
Written by Billy Rose & Lee David.
B-side is "Goodnight My Love".
