DESCRIPTION:
If you have a spare fifteen minutes to spare, there might be worse ways to spend that fifteen minutes on than having a listen to this album.

The second (mini) album by The Golden Horde from Dublin.

Sitting somewhere between The Cramps, Husker Du and The Darling Buds!

This long standing band who debuted on the Dublin music scene in 1982 have played quite a bit in London with the likes of The Headcoats, The Barracudas and The Prisoners who once upon a time had James Taylor (of James Taylor Quartet) playing the Hammond organ for them.

I saw Golden Horde with Psychic TV once in 1986 at Kilburn. That was certainly a mismatch, although to be fair Zodiac Mindwarp was also performing at the same concert!

The first side of this mini album, has the newer tracks and wins hands down due to the inclusion of ‘The Name On The Bullet Was Mine’ which is an absolutely irresistible tune, to be played over and over.

Of course you only listen to Throbbing Gristle and nothing else, in which case you would probably think the songs shite.

The second side is lifted from Golden Hordes first 7″ single, released in 1984 on Hotwire / Crashed Records. All reasonable enough material on this side but it feels as though the owner of Media Burn Records, Stan Brennan (who released the first Pogues 7" single, and the owner of the Rocks Off record shop in Hanway Street W1) stuck the material on as an afterthought, as that single was deleted and becoming rarer.

Personally I would have preferred another three tracks from the 1985 sessions, if any more existed, which of course, they might not have.
