Luke Gilliam - From Seed To Flower - The Harvest For Freiza demo with Dynamics and Sound Effects - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 17, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
For me music is a totally emotional experience. I am absorbed by the idea of hypnosis in music for example Indian sitar music and composers like Terry Riley that I grew up listening to. The theme for this piece is a harvest and the image that drove me to write was that of a child running through a field.

There are many things I would like to change in this piece. Subtle transitions between phrases. Many things. But the overall structure of the sections and the harmonies is exactly where I want it to be. It was written in 16 song writing sessions and will still need about 5 song writing sessions before it can be recorded. There is an entire section for alto flute that is written in my head which I have not yet had the chance to get down onto paper. I don't have access to Logic or Sibelius so the sound of the demo is not what I wanted but I am happy with the score in its first draft.

This piece is intended for an octet formation but more players maybe needed in the future.

The 600ms delay on the first alto flute corresponds to a standard delay time of 1.6 seconds for 75 bpm. The 16th version of the score is available as a pdf on my composer website:
