Formados a mediados de 2006 por integrantes de diversas bandas de hondo calado en el underground barcelonés, fanáticos de los sonidos afroamericanos de los '50 y los '60, The Fabulous Ottomans nacen con la intención de recrear dichos sonidos y mas concretamente los que se mueven en la época a caballo entre las dos décadas. El Rhythm & Blues, el Rock'n'Roll y lo que se viene etiquetando como Early Soul son las bases de su repertorio.
En 2007 y 2008 actúan con una cierta regularidad y ofrecen su show en España, Francia, Italia, Suiza y Alemania. Participan en festivales internacionales como el Screamin' Festival en Calella, el Ubangi Stomp en Benidorm, Let's Get Wild en Stuttgart, Rockin' Race Jamboree en Málaga, The Beat Goes On en Luanco, Hangar Rockin' en Berna, Bus Festival en Piacenza o el Funtastic Drácula Carnival en Valencia y comparten cartel con artistas como The Cleftones, The Trashmen, The Rapiers, Bobby Crown, Wanda Jackson o Sharon Jones (quien ya habia colaborado con alguno de ellos grabando el agotadísimo single "Los Walkysons featurig Sharon Jones").
Su primera referencia discográfica "Shake, Shout & Soul with. The Fabulous Ottomans" es recibida con entusiamo y en seis meses agota su tirada inicial. Menos de 8 meses después, un segundo single titulado "Take a trip.with the Fabulous Ottomans" sale al mercado, y después de continuar girando por España, Italia, Alemania, Gran Bretaña y Francia durante la primera mitad de 2009, en mayo del mismo año la banda cuelga sus instrumentos y decide poner fin al grupo de mutuo acuerdo.
Muchas gracias a todos los grupos con los que compartimos escenario, promotores de conciertos, y, por encima de todo, al público que ha acudido a la llamada de la "Turk Invasion". A todos ellos, un fuerte abrazo, e informarles que pueden seguir los pasos de algunos de los ex-miembros Ottomanos con las bandas THE EXCITEMENTS y THE KONGSMEN.
Formed during 2006 by members of other well-known bands from Barcelona's underground scene, being big fans of african-american sounds from the 50's and the 60's, The Fabulous Ottomans were born to re-create said sounds, and more precisely the ones found in between both decades. Rhythm & Blues, Rock'n'Roll and what has become known as Early Soul are the basis of their repertoire.
In 2007 and 2008 they gig regularly and they tour over Spain, France, Italy Switzerland and Germany. Their first recorded reference "Shake, Shout & Soul with. The Fabulous Ottomans" is issued in Barcelona's Buttefly Records and is recieved with rave reviews, which ends up with the initial run sold out in a period of six months. Less than 8 months later, a second 45 "Take a trip.with the Fabulous Ottomans" is released, and after continuing touring through Spain, Italy, Germany and France during the first half of 2009, in may of that year, the group decides to cease playing and hang their instruments for good.
