Born Losers were formed in early 2003 in Barcelona by Pau Loewe and Daniel Segura, united by their 50's, and specially 60's, instrumental r'n'r obsession, including surf, twist, garage, and the sounds unleashed by such great acts as The Ventures, The Challengers, the Hot-Rod Del-Fi series and, above all, Davie Allan and the Arrows, which they obviously paid tribute with their name (and who personally congratulated them for their take on his sound), and the 60's biker-genre b-movies (including their soundtracks).
The band, first as a trio and afterwards augmented by a rhythm guitar player and percussionist, played an instrumental r'n'r brand which abandoned the stereotypical surf style and paid more attention to a more mid-60's Ventures type of songs, and Davie Allan and the Arrows fuzzed out instros, which became the band's signature sound.
They recorded two seven inches (Wild punk records and Butterfly Records) and toured sparsely, including great performances in the late Wipe Out Festival (Calella, Spain) and several editions of the Surforama Festival (Valencia, Spain).
By late 2008, the band decided to take a long hiatus because of duties with other bands (during those years, Pablo and Daniel formed THE FABULOUS OTTOMANS (RIP) and THE KONGSMEN).
After almost two years of no action, by early 2010 the band jumps to the stages again in full-throttle, and a full length BORN LOSERS album should see the light by the end of 2010!!!
