DESCRIPTION:
An ode to the millions of Grateful Dead fans, or "Dead Heads " ...
Why ? Because I simply hadn't found one already on-line.
The song ? "Easy To Love You" (Brent Mydland) initially recorded in April 1980 on the LP "Go To Heaven".
At the time, I was absolutely not convinced by this : the tune and the sentiment was even worse at the concerts that followed ...
but time goes by, and within the last 2 weeks, I was mechanically listening to the March 15th 1990 (Landover, MD) concert and, like it so often happens with the Grateful Dead, IT JUST HIT ME !
Yes, Brent, by 1987 (or earlier ?), had seemingly matured and became a truly independent and perfectly integrated musician within this 6 member band ... and it just RANG MY HEART.
I immediately thought of those he was probably singing it too (as well as, no doubt, some family members) and this is what I came up with.
