Originally formed as an acoustic duo comprised of guitarist Scott “STOOLY” Miller and bassist Scott Lilly in 2004, The.Daisy.Anthesis. (not the Daisy Atheist’s, The Daily Anthesis OR The Daisy Antithesis…) has seen some changes over the past few years. With the addition of drummer Andrew Martin in early 2006, the trio immediately began jamming on heavier songs. Four years and 2 demos later, the band’s first full length release “Surface and the Sky” is a collection of material that has been amassed over the past five years.



The band’s sound draws influence from many different forms of music, while keeping the raw heaviness and aggression of death metal and grindcore at heart. The result is a diverse yet unified sound that ranges from whispering melody to groovin’ riff driven death metal to chaotic noise. With a live show that has been described as “a wall of fuck,” the band has shared the stage with many maritime acts such as the thrashers of Sussex’s Rusted Dawn and the funkaholics of Moncton’s Something Delicious, as well as many other not so local acts such as Tugnut, I Hate Sally, Kataklysm, The End, What’s He Building in There?, Ion Dissonance, Despised Icon and Job For a Cowboy. The band looks forward to Surface and the Sky’s release in March of 2010, in hopes of exposing their music to new audiences.
