Formed in 2004, Rusted Dawn is a hail of speed emerging from the East Coast of Canada, in particular their hometown of Sussex, New Brunswick. Jeremy sings and plays guitar, Justin is lead guitar, Chad is on bass. The current H.Q. of the band is Fredericton (rock city), capital of New Brunswick.

Influenced by pretty much everything under the sun, but in particular those that turned everything to 11, these dudes strive to bring something original to the table while playing the music they live and breathe for - neck-splitting speed meets crushing, all-out power. The boys started out playing as many shows in the Maritimes as possible in 2005, sharing gigs alongside touring acts kind enough to give maritimers a taste, as well as notable east coast heavyweights such as Gallactus, Iron Giant, Hellacaust and many others, all within their home turf on the east coast.

Their first release, 'The Toxic Shock E.P.', was released in late 2006, which included a track appearing on the Diminished Fifth Records Compilation 'The Music Of Artisanship And War, Vol. 1.' After this, the band embarked on their first tour of eastern Canada in the summer of 2007, covering their eastern provinces, as well as marking their first visits to Quebec and Ontario. A second release, "The Red Collar E.P." was released in February of 2008, and was followed by an absolute onslaught of touring throughout the summer months across eastern Canada, and further touring in early 2009.

But with the good, of course, comes the bad. The band has seen its share of turmoil in forms of vehicular near-death experiences, line-up changes, and member injuries. the list of nonsense goes on. Now, however, the band is stronger than it's ever been, Having just released their Debut full-length record, 'The Black Tides Of War', via Diminished Fifth Records, as well as taking part in the label's newest compilation, 'The Music Of Artisanship And War, Vol. 3', as well as an online compilation featuring various label mates as well as talent from Quebec's Galy Records and southern Ontario's Year Of The Sun Records. Following the release, the band embarked on their first cross-country tour, covering all of Canada, and going quite literally from coast, to coast, to coast, playing over 40 shows within a 6-week blitzkrieg, during which 'The Black Tides Of War' reached 3 on the Chart Attack! Loud listings.

THE BLACK TIDES OF WARReview by Keith Carman, EXCLAIM!"It's easy for any band to pare down new material into their four or five best cuts. When it comes to a complete album, however, a new set of rules apply. With two impressive EPs under their belts, the pressure is on for New Brunswick's notorious blackened thrash/hardcore mongers Rusted Dawn to deliver on debut full-length The Black Tides Of War. Unsurprisingly, they do more than just hit they mark; they ram it down your throat. The Black Tides Of War readily confirms Rusted Dawn's mastery of chug riffs battling abrasive tempos and a general sense of caustic tension. As well as further exposing their adoration of late-era Discharge, coupled with severe thrash and the requisite amount of Motörhead-ish primal rock to keep things catchy. From the blasting heat of "Red Collar" through "I Am Becoming Death" and the titular closer, The Black Tides Of War is beyond simple comparisons to band influences/genre highlights such as Nuclear Assault's Handle With Care or Disfear's Soul Scar. It's in a league of its own."
