Iberia Forever! The Shin | Extraordinary Exhibition - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 15, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
The music for films and theater written by the world-famous Goergian composer Giya Kancheli has been revived by the Georgian trio The Shin, which has been already attached listeners in Latvia. In the concert program "Extraordinary Exhibition" where symphonic music, ethno-jazz, Georgian polyphonic singing, and passionate Caucasian dances blend together and take you to the most wonderful world of sound and dance.
Music of Gia Kancheli is very many-sided — it is majestic and fragile, passionate and humorous, and also filled with light sadness. It is mysterious and transparently simple at the same time. It sounds like a life marathon of a small dreamer, like a monologue of the prodigal son. And, finally, it sounds like the Motherland to all Georgians. Similar feelings are known by Latvians, as well, therefore, among the artists of the "Extraordinary Exhibition" you will see also the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, Latvian soloists, musicians, and dancers.
In the event everybody will participate — musicians, conductor, and the audience. This project will be like a musical show with many actors participating, but leaving the leading role to the music of the Master — Giya Kancheli.
