Originally titled "Blues for Scotty's Diner," "Home Fried Blues" was recorded on August 29, 1977 and was released on Chuck Owston's LP "Mysterious Ladies and Midnight Queens, which was released in 1978. The song features Chuck Owston - recitation, Jim Owston - Electric Piano, Nick Brack - bass, & Howard "HB" Bennett - drums.

The song was used in the PBS special "Pennsylvania Diners and Other Roadside Restaurants" produced by Rick Sebak and WQED, Pittsburgh.
