Bristol native Dave Loggins performing an original song "The Mountain Side of Me" at the 2nd Rhythm and Roots Reunion in 2001 at the Cameo in Bristol, Virginia. Loggins wrote this song to honor the festival and the town. He is widely remembered for his 1974 composition "Please Come to Boston", which was a top-10 hit in the U.S. for him, and was subsequently covered by numerous other artists. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1995. He has won multiple Grammys for his songwriting work.
