DESCRIPTION:
- Native Americans have always spoken of a wolf-like creature that stalks the southeast area of Wisconsin. Most commonly known as the Beast of Bray Road, but also as Bear-Wolf, Indigenous Dogman or Wendigo by Native Americans, the creature is usually sighted near heavily wooded, marshy areas, thick with vegetation and abundant food sources.
- But the evidence for this Beast is far greater than most other werewolf legends around the world, with reports appearing eerily consistent. A hairy dog-man, around 7ft tall and 350 pounds with an enormous head; humanoid facial features; dark, silver-tipped fur; a long, pointed muzzle; elongated fingers and muscular thighs, often with a long tail. While said to be bipedal, it has also been spotted running on all fours.
- Most who encounter it find it aggressive, while others say it is intelligent. The first documented sighting of The Beast occurred in 1936 by Mark Shackleman, a security guard for a school in Jefferson, WI, who witnessed The Beast digging into a Native American burial mound.
- Other terrifying encounters include that of Steven Kreuger, a county worker picking up roadkill in Southeast Wisconsin. A tall, wolf-like beast grabbed fresh roadkill from his truck as he drove away.
