In case you’ve ever wondered whether a vintage Teisco could sing the blues, Arlen Roth tuned his to open D so he could play slide in tribute to Ry Cooder, who turns 69 today (March 15). The tune is "Landslide," from "Guitarist," Arlen’s first album on Rounder. In the background are two classic Gibsons – a ’59 ES-225 TDN and a ’60 ES-330 TDN, along with a ’70s Schecter. Arlen is busy prepping a followup to his "The Telemasters" album, on which he'll jam with Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Albert Lee, Brent Mason, Steve Cropper, Jerry Donahue, Steve Wariner, Johnny Hiland, Will Ray, Jack Pearson, Marty Stuart, and others. He also is set to release all-Stones acoustic album called "Paint in Black." Keep up with Arlen at http://www.arlenroth.com/
