The Apostates were formed in the summer of 2006 out of a mutual affection of getting tanked on cheap cider and playing noisy, brash punk rock with a healthy side order of dirty ska licks and soulful reggae rhythms. They keep their mix very English, intently giving the A-OK to let their London born tongues shout loud and proud instead of adopting counterfeit accents and conforming to the Americanised punk rock aesthetic of today.

They have released two 4-track EPs entitled "Junkyard Dogs & Alley Cats" and "Same Old Sound", both receiving national radio airplay on the BBC Radio One Mike Davies Punk Show. With the band still unsigned, they were in invited to the legendary BBC Maida Vale Studios to record a session for the show. This was quite an achievement for a band that strew together just 2 EPs on a DIY budget in just under a year of their existence!

With this recognition the band were approached to have their song "Same Old Sound" appear on the soundtrack of gaming giants 2K Sports latest ice hockey game "NHL 2K8" alongside some modern greats such as Korn, Bloc Party, Comeback Kid and many more.

In just over 2 years of the band being together they have now played well over 150 shows spanning the UK sharing the stage with the likes of Voodoo Glow Skulls, Inner Terrestrials, Citizen Fish, and legendary punk bands such as GBH, Anti-Nowhere League and Sham 69 at 2007's Concrete Jungle festival. As well as new UK bands flying the flag such as: Suicide Bid, Strawberry Blondes, Sonic Boom 6, and Random Hand.
