DESCRIPTION:
Here's a quick amplifier demo. I'm demoing few amps that I would use to achieve telecaster sounds.
1. Valvetech Hayseed 15: 1963 Vox AC15 style amp. For this demo I used the Top Boost channel. The amp also has a EF86 channel, that I quite like, but for recording, the TB-channel seems to work better for me. However, I've only had this amp for a few days now, I'll have experiment a little more with it.
2. Fender Deluxe Reverb '74: This classic Fender Amp has been slightly modified, the schematic is something between silverface and blackface models.
3. Dr. Z Maz 18 NR head: A bit more modern take on the classic Vox style amp.
Only effects are some spring reverb from Boss FRV-1 and a little slapback delay from TC Triple Flashback. All the OD coming from amps, no post processing.
All amps were recorded with a Two Notes Torpedo Live using a Ownhammer "Blue/Gold" impulse response. This is obviously a Vox style cabinet, so that's probably why the Deluxe Reverb isn't that different from these EL84-powered amps. However I normally do use a Celestion Gold speaker in my Deluxe, so this impulse is quite close to what my Deluxe Reverb actually sounds.
I set all the amps at edge of breakup, to demonstrate kind of telecaster lead sound, that I of use. Of course this is just one way to set the amps, you could also get a variety of clean and even more dirty tones.
