His name …Tyler Hayes.

Some say art is born of necessity, others of desire, passion, or banal curiosity. On the lonesome two-lane roads of eastern North Carolina prosperity still eludes many folks & survival is a way of life. King Tobacco no longer reigns & white boys ride around with fake dreads quoting the latest hip-hop scripture. Pawn shops, run-down trailers, & soul food joints dot the landscape in-between the occasional modern faux plantation home. This is the Bible Belt, a land of salvation, single moms, domestic violence, divorce & tattoos. It is the Old South, heartbroken yet beautiful. In a forgotten, white house on the outskirts of town, Tyler Hayes sits with a Red Bull, Marlboro dangling from his lips & carves his heart out with a trusty Gibson & pen & paper. Why? Because he was born to do it…

Tyler’s story starts similar to thousands of others. An early Christmas brought the first drum-kit, and recognition of natural talent. A chance meeting at the age of 12 with a pawn shop guitar found in his Mom’s closest led him to Led Zeppelin, The Black Crowes & Stevie Ray Vaughn, and by 16, he had entered the Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Gram Parsons, School of Hard Knocks Writing. Surviving a rough childhood, bad breaks & heartbreak, by age 17 Tyler was packing out coffee houses & rock clubs across the Carolinas. Writing, singing & sharing life’s joys & pains…Tyler Hayes follows the still, small voice in his soul.

Imagine Clint Eastwood at 21, part James Dean, part new Dylan, an old soul in a young man’s body, wisdom & passion borne out of mere survival. Straddling the dirt road of Alternative Country and Roots Rock, Tyler Hayes sets out on his own highway and the sounds beckon one to get still and…listen. Tyler Hayes…a musician, a writer, a singer…an artist. Through his music listen to your stories, & hear the sounds of tomorrows American Music…You will hear the Art of life. It is a crossroads, the grunge of rock, the roots of acoustic music, an old church hymn. It is what music was meant to be. This is real life…this is …Tyler Hayes.
