"The PLOWOLOGY of JOHN BROWN."

Born into the chaos of the mid 60’s and torn between the unyielding philosophies of the Bible Belt, the spirituality of the civil rights movement and the idealism of the hippie culture, JOHN BROWN aka "Hound" is part classic storyteller, part southern medicine man…spreading seeds of Peace, planting a musical landscape influenced by Jackson Browne & Little Feat, Jimmy Buffet & Mark Twain, Lyle Lovett & the BIBLE.

Raised on the tobacco roads of eastern North Carolina, John has toured, written, and recorded music with a who’s who of major recording artists, producers and songwriters, including John Berry, Martina McBride, Billy Dean, Susie Boggus, John Hiatt and the Zac Brown Band. Already a respected Nashville musician, John sowed the first seeds of his unique artistic identity with his 2003 recording, NEXT OF KIN. That same year he co-wrote the hit musical, The Bell Witch, which was nominated for the 2004 Benois De La Danse awards held at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. John's latest marquis success, the song "REAL THINGS," co-written with country artist Billy Dean; is the title track of Joe Nichols' 2007 Universal South major release.

Maybe it's Jackson Browne going country, Jimmy Buffet hitting land or Mark Twain moving to the farm with Foghorn Leghorn… a virtual BBQ-Baptist homecoming. Most likely, it's just John Brown being John Brown. Either way, whether captivating listeners with poetic lyrics and simple wisdoms, pontificating from his literary collection, THE BOOK OF ROOSTER, or reinventing covers, John Brown has one thing in mind. Uniting with his audience to create an unforgettable experience and… PLOWOLOGY is "The Root of it All".
