I've been a drum teacher for over 7 years in Montreal, and have had the chance to work with some fantastic students! These now include students who have gone to college in music, as well as one student (Volodia Schneider) who has won the largest Montreal drum Competition "Drummer Kombat 2008", winning a $10 000 drum kit, vacation trips, as well as other promotional gifts!
As for the obligatory credentials, I'll just mention a few events that were pretty meaningful to me. I won the "Player's Challenge" Open Category Drum Competition in Toronto, Ontario, through a store called "Just Drums" at the age of 15.
In March 2005; many bands and side projects later, I came 2nd place in the largest Drum Competition in Montreal, Quebec, called the "Drummer Kombat 2005" (Finals played at Club Soda).
I attended and graduated from Vanier College, in Montreal, majoring in drumset and studying with the acclaimed instructor NASYR A. AL KHABYYR. Also working with ROBERT SLAPKOFF in percussion, classical training, and Afro-cuban styles, and Chris Smith and Jacques LaBelle in my third year theory and music training.
I finished with 2 diplomas, one in "Popular Music" (drumset major and sound recording) and a second in "Advanced Jazz composition and Arranging" (drumset major).
The easiest place to see me play regularly is at my church in Pierrefonds, Montreal, called Ascension Christian Fellowship (better known as A.C.F). Drop in some time- it's good for ya! www.ascensioncf.com .
