Once Doggy Style split into two factions after their first album Side by Side, two follow-ups emerged. Brad X and Lou Gaez's Doggy Style released the rap-heavy album The Last Laugh in 1986 with Brian Baker and Doug Carrion while Ed and Ray's Doggy Style put out this album in 1988. It's likely safe to assume that the Led Zeppelin cover and title homage is a jab at the rival Doggy Style, discrediting The Last Laugh and asserting this record as the true follow-up to Side by Side. This albums expands on Side by Side's skate punk sound and has a great trick of layering a catchy hook over a snotty punk song (see Lady From Bordello or Everybody Wants to Dub My Baby). There are also a couple of tracks with a Beastie Boys influence (see Bonus Time Baby or Dub This) and some Brian May inspired guitar solos (see Shaeffer's Revenge). Overall, a true hidden gem of melodic punk.
