Triplet based drumming - on 1976 Ludwig Vistalite drums n 1968 Ludwig Super Sensitive snare drum - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 08, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Tearwave's drummer - John Stephanski - does some John Bonham movements. After scratching his nose while contemplating what to play - John, in his best gruff fake English accent, says: "Hi," followed by: "Are ya ready laddy?!" All goofing around aside, after almost 4 years of these drums hidden away in touring drum cases after TEARWAVES last show on January 31st, 2009 in Cleveland, OH - the time finally arrived that this lovely blue Ludwig Vistalite drum outfit needed to be pounded on.

This video was spontaneously recorded on a low level cell phone at John's house on January 6th, 2013. He is wearing dirty weekend work clothes - jeans full of paint stains, etc...ratty smelly t-shirt - complete with work boots and a set of earplugs hanging round his neck. The polar opposite of his attire when he played live with TEARWAVE.

While on TEARWAVES' studio recorded songs, John's drumming was more controlled and could be very intricate, this is a better sonic example of how he played at live shows. Playing live is where musicians really get to express themselves, as we all know. It's like anything in life - "...ain't nothin like the real thing..."

This recording sounds best on a good set of computer speakers - albiet this is NOT a professional recording by any stretch of the imagination. If this has touched you in any way, shape or form - share with others if you would, in any way you see fit.

Thanks for watching and listening - Keep the Faith.
