This song means a lot to me because I've been in a situation before where I've been manipulated and used. It's really hard to be strong and try to leave something like that since you really feel like you're losing everything (including yourself) in the process. This song is really empowering to me since it talks about breaking free, embracing your inner strength, and accepting that sometimes sacrifices must be made to start moving on and recovering.

This was actually meant to be just piano and vocals initially similar to unravel. However, the arrangement didn’t seem to have enough variety to it when I tried to play it on just the piano. Instead, I ended up programming some MIDI to go with my piano part to make things a little more interesting. The result was this semi-acoustic backtrack with piano, synth, and drums.

All sounds you hear were recorded or programmed by me!
