If ye love me (Thomas Tallis) - New York Polyphony | free bonus track from BIS Records - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 25, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
New York Polyphony will release 'Times go by Turns' Summer 2013, the highly anticipated follow-up to their acclaimed BIS Records debut 'endBeginning'.

Preceding the album release is a free NON-ALBUM bonus track, 'If ye love me' by Thomas Tallis. The free track is NOW AVAILABLE for download exclusively on eClassical.com: http://www.eclassical.com/pages/new-york-polyphony.html The video for the track features actual footage from the recording sessions held January 2013 at the historic Länna kyrka in Bergshamra, Sweden.

Showcasing New York Polyphony's signature fusion of refined musicianship and modern approach, 'Times go by Turns' features powerful performances of music written by English Renaissance masters Thomas Tallis and William Byrd, and the obscure medieval composer John Plummer. The ensemble adds contemporary color to the program with two commissioned works: Andrew Smith's soaring 'Kyrie: Cunctipotens Genitor Deus' and the playfully intricate 'Ite missa est' of award-winning composer Gabriel Jackson. Completing the sequence is one of the last compositions by eminent English composer Richard Rodney Bennett, a setting of a poem by Sir Thomas Browne called 'A Colloquy with God'. Scored for four unaccompanied male voices, this spellbinding piece was dedicated to the ensemble shortly before the composer's death in 2012.
