Tallboy Records, TABOY002
released circa 1997-1999

With the darkest days of winter upon us, it only seems fitting to listen to a song about the longest days of summer. And The Beatifics fit the bill nicely with the self-penned A-side here. They follow up with a B-Side credited to Emitt Rhodes, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what Emitt Rhodes album that song appears on.

This appears to have been the only Beatifics single, but they did give us two full-length CDs, plus a mini-album, while they were around. If you're looking to dig deeper, I highly recommend their "How I Learned To Stop Worrying" album. It also appears that they recently issued an 8-song 10-inch recorded on Vin Scelsa's Idiot's Delight radio show on WNEW-FM New York on April 20, 1997. So keep your eyes open and pick up a copy for your collection.

Meanwhile, the actual release date of this particular single isn't indicated on the sleeve or record, but I'm guessing I bought it sometime in the late 1990s, so that's what we'll go with here. If anyone knows for certain when this came out, share your knowledge in the comments section.

And while you dream of the warmer days of summer, take a browse through the singles available on this channel. By the time you listen to them all, summer will be a little bit closer.
