Next Door
Written, performed and co-produced by Melissa Moshé (ASCAP 2012).
He lives next door to reality
In a house that doesn't quite belong on the street
Newspaper piles document his time
From the day he left
To his current life
Scribblings from G-d stacked up high
Binding them tight
No argument or fight
His mind is splintered and scattered
The shades are singed and tattered
Burn their eyes
No beauty will pass
He's silenced their mouths
Only questions will last
Scribblings from G-d stacked up high
Binding them tight
No argument or fight
Only five feet to move in either way
When there's nowhere left to go
He had to mentally escape
People pass by try to ignore his plight
It doesn't exist if it's kept out of sight
His walls can't take anymore
Silenced by paint
But they've seen it all
Scribblings from G-d stacked up high
Binding them tight
Just somebody's son, someone's brother
Got lost in himself
Scribblings from G-d stacked up high
Binding them tight
No argument or fight
