Swingin' Tern Dances: Donna Hunt & John Cote with Diane Perry 6/27/14 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 29, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
A fortunate chain of events followed the unfortunate breakdown of Ed Howe's car that prevented him from joining John Cote as Perpetual e-Motion. With John alone on stage, caller Donna Hunt asked if there was fiddle in the house. Diane Perry had come to dance to Perpetual e-Motion for the first time. She missed her carpool which left her to drive her own car that happened to contain her violin. Diane only plays classical and jazz violin. In a wonderful example of the talent of the contra dance community, Diane went from groupie to contra fiddler.
Donna is calling Nils Fredland's variant of "Cheat Lake Twirl" by Perry Shafran.
John Coté plays guitar, didgeridoo, feet, vocals and electronica and is usually joined by Ed Howe on fiddle and electronica. Several videos of Perpetual e-Motion can be found on Doug Heacock's contradance channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/contrabear
