PUBLISHED:  May 20, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
In late 1975-early 1976, the Holland Brothers were at work recording and producing the Supremes' next album "High Energy." After Mary Wilson, Scherrie Payne, and Cindy Birdsong finished recording vocals for the entire album, Cindy Birdsong was let go from the group. Just a few days later, a talented young lady named Susaye Greene became the last Supreme. With an incredible voice and range, Susaye recorded two lead vocals for the album which included the title track "High Energy," and "I'm Gonna Let My Heart Do The Walking." The Holland Brothers decided to use her lead as ad-libs in the released version which was sung by Scherrie Payne. Here is the full Susaye Greene lead version.
