Susan Aglukark - Hina Na Ho (Celebration) ☼ (1995) lyrics - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 28, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
Awesome uplifting song from Susan Aglukark! From her multi-platinum album 'This Child' - 'Hina Na Ho' charted in three categories in Canada, reaching #3 on the Adult Contemporary charts, #19 on the Country charts, #30 on the Pop charts. Her biggest hit from the same album 'O Siem' reached #1. This unique song is sung in two languages - Inuktitut and English. Inuktitut is spoken by the Inuit of our most northern region in Canada Nunavut. Audio from my CD. Pics mostly of northern Canada landscapes. I hope you enjoy it! :)

There is a great live performance of this song on youtube.. there used to be at least two videos up of it, but I only see one now. It was when she (and a group of dancers) performed for the North American Indigenous Games in 2002 in Winnipeg Manitoba. The video title is: sometimes, somewhere in Canada.. possibly concern over being deleted.. so they changed the song title and event info? lyrics:

Hina na ho ho henay
Hina na ho ho henay
Indaya hina na ho ho henay
Indaya

Creator
Of seasons
Of people
Of nations

Survivors
Of promise
A spirit
Of freedom

Hina na ho ho henay
Hina na ho ho henay
Indaya hina na ho ho henay
Indaya

Spirit
Of battle
Awaken
The cradle

Stand by
Your people
The nations
Survivors

Hina na ho ho henay
Hina na ho ho henay
Indaya hin na ho ho henay
