Alex H returns with his first release of 2017, delivering what is arguably his best record to date. 2016 saw Alex begin to come in to his own as a producer as he meticulously perfected his sound and solidified himself as a top talent on the Heath Mill Recordings imprint. Preparing for a breakout campaign this year, Alex kicks off his first release of the year, ‘West Linn’, with a bit of a rigid intro that blossoms in to something truly beautiful over the course of the track’s duration. As Alex’s euphoric synth patterns creep in over the top of the commanding intro, the throbbing kick, sultry bass line, and crisp hi hats come to a rest comfortably in the background while the melodies quickly whisk the listener away. Stunning piano melodies seamlessly fall from the sky while the twinkling rhythms and feel good vibes continue to work their magic. Certainly a track that exhibits proper progression from start to finish, if this release doesn’t make a declarative statement about what’s in store for the rest of 2017, we’re not really sure what will.
