DESCRIPTION:
"8th Wonder" was a 1980 single by the American hip-hop trio The Sugarhill Gang, later made part of their 1982 album "8th Wonder". It went to #82 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, and peaked at #15 on the U.S. R&B chart. The song sampled two other songs, 1978's "Ever Ready" by Johnnie Taylor, and "Daisy Lady" by 7th Wonder from 1979. "8th Wonder", in turn, has been sampled over twenty times over the years by many artists, including Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, Fatboy Slim, Jennifer Lopez, and many others. "8th Wonder" was the second full album by The Sugarhill Gang, following the worldwide success of "Rapper's Delight". The album was released on Sugarhill Records and was, like the group's first album, once again produced by Sylvia Robinson and James Cullimore.
