PUBLISHED:  Feb 19, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
Fela Kuti questions and attacks the condition of the Nigerian state and Africa in general respective to basic commodoties such a Water, Light, Food and Housing supplements.

'Nah so-so Water for Africa'
There is plenty of water in Africa. The land is flowing with lakes, streams and rivers. We also have our rainy seasons.

'Ordinary water for man to drink for town Nko-O?'
We had 1st world countries offering us water on special programs, due to our people dying of thirst. Where is our water? Why are we thirsty in our towns and villages?

'Nah so-so Sunlight for Africa'
Africa is a hot land filled with coal, oil and sunlight. Our potential for limitless energy is enormous. The rich people have their electricity, if there is no electricity, they will use generators instead. Plenty of electricity theoretically for all.

'Light for ordinary man for town now, Nko-O?'
Why then do we have these ridiculous periods where there is no light? We have coal, oil and sunlight, why does a normal man have to wake, eat and sleep in darkness?

'Nah so-so Land they for Africa'
Africa is a land plentiful in vegetation and game. We have farms, game reserves and plenty of vegetation in our many forests to feed our people.

'Ordinary food for man to chop for town Nko-O?'
Why are our people going hungry? Why do we have other countries outside of Africa supplying us with food, when we Africa centre of the world should have all the food we need?

'House matter nah different matter'
We African's should be living like kings and queens as we did before colonialism.

'Ordinary ting for man to enjoy for town Nko-O?'
So we are instead living like paupers and shoe cobblers. We have ivory, metals, crystals - all lost to the Western civilisations to raise their own people whilst we live squalor.

'Original Sufferhead'
And now we suffer.

The reason, government corruption, mismanagement and colonial mentality.

R.I.P Black President.
