Sonja Jacob is a songwriter , singer & saxophonist .
Working as an assistant engineer in the 90 ies in new york city , she was exposed to the music of Run DMC , the Beasty Boys and Red Hot Chilli Pepper live at the studio, those first impressions and her love for jazz , inspired her to write music and are well present in her style and lyrics.
On SUBSTANCE ABUSE she features a hot alto saxophone solo and a spinning brass hook .
