Stuart Reece is a 24 year old singer songwriter from Port Elizabeth South Africa. He started playing guitar at the age of 13 and played for bands throughout school. In October 2010 he formed his own band consisting of himself on guitar and vocals, Wesley Keet on Keyboard and Backing Vocals, Hugo Kleinhans on Lead guitar, Barry Kilian on Bass Guitar and Kristo Zondagh on Drums. They recorded their first EP consisting of 6 songs at Drop and Roll Studio with Bryan McLagen in November 2011 . Two of the six songs made it onto national radio, one charting at number 3 on the Algoa FM top 30 (Love Song) The EP is still available at their shows today and is called "Leave This Town"
A year after the EP was launched in October 2011 Stuart and band headed into Bryan McLagen's studio to work on their debut full length album. The recording process was a great success and the band launched the album on the 13th of April 2012. The album is titled 'Chasing Shadows' and their first single "Let's write about us" was received well and was picked up by a number of radio stations. Algoa FM, RSG, Mpower Fm, East Coast Radio, Ofm, Bay Fm, Kawi Fm, 2 oceans radio and KingFisher FM. Their second Single "Better Left Unsaid" is currently in rotation around South Africa along with the others.
In June 2013 Stuart and the band headed into Bryan McLagens studio for a third time to begin the recording of the second full length album. 11 brand new songs on an Album titled "Storm". The Album has just been sent to Paris Lucas in Fishhoek for mixing and mastering and Stuart is busy working on the album artwork with Craig Pinock at the moment. They plan to release the first single "Alright" during the month of August and launch the album in November 2013.
Stuart Reece, solo and with his band has played alongside many popular South African acts. Namely; Elvis Blue, Aking, Dan Patlansky, Prime Circle, Graham Watkins Project, Evolver One, The Arrows, Farrell Purkiss, Jesse Clegg, Taxi Violence, Southern Gypsy Queen, Meri Kenaz, Tony Cox, Steve Newman, David Knowles, Robin Auld, The Cotton Fields, and The Modes.
