Jump Right In is the debut full-length from Stop Motion Poetry, the Modesto, California based pop-rock group composed of brothers Clark (lead vocals, piano), Devin (bass, vocals) and Spencer (drums, vocals) Beggs, and close friend Jian Salcedo (guitar, vocals). SMP plays catchy, romantic pop songs in the vein of Snow Patrol or a more optimistic Death Cab For Cutie. In August they won a live talent competition judged by Glee Casting Director: Robert Ulrich.
Synth-pop gem "Head Over Heels" would make Owl City proud, and just try not to join in on the irresistible chorus of lead single "After That." Meanwhile "Spiraling Somewhere," co-written with top-40 songsmith Jeff Cohen (The Band Perry), features Beach Boys-esque vocal harmonies and crisp, polishedproduction courtesy of Mikal Blue (Colbie Caillat). Blue produced nine of the album's twelve tracks.
Jump Right In's melodies will linger in your head long after the final note of stripped-down closer "Can't Help Falling in Love Without You" - an emotional gut-punch that proves Stop Motion Poetry isn't just another pop-rock imitator.
