Hi, I'm Stu. I used to play drums in a few bands for many years until August 2007 . I bought my first acoustic guitar in 1996, mainly to learn & play other peoples songs but I got bored with that because it was too difficult (for a drummer).
I have been attempting to write my own stuff since about 2002, but I've only recently started trying to make proper sounding home demo's.
I record my own songs on my wee Tascam 8 track which used to be inside a cupboard in my kitchen, but I've now taken over a spare bedroom.
I've explained the recording process in a bit more detail in my blog if anyone is at all interested. In short, I record all my tracks live from start to finish with real instruments mainly, apart from some Garage Band sounds & instruments.
Admittedly I'm not much of a singer, guitarist, bassist or pianist, but I enjoy having a go.

"IF THE EMOTION & INTENTION ARE RIGHT, THE NOTES YOU SING DON'T MATTER".
(Roger Daltrey 2006)

Until fairly recently I had never picked up either a bass or electric guitar & I certainly didn't have any plans to play my music live to anyone. Now as a result of the tremendous support I've had here from some fantastic people, I have recently made my live debut in Glasgow. I'm now working on building my live set and my live confidence!!
Open Mic at The Dowanhill Bar in Partick, Glasgow.
Myself and my new Lead guitarist Fraser are now regulars at Ray's open Mic in Partick, it's on every Tuesday from about 8.30pm. New musicians are most welcome, Ray can be contacted at
www.raysopenmic.co.uk.

Please let me know what you think of my music so far, should I give up, keep going or f&@k off?

My latest featured track is the first one on the player above, with my other most recent tracks in order below that.

Any feedback is appreciated.

MY TOP FRIENDS.
Unfortunately I can't make everyone my TOP friends, If I could I would.
I have tried to keep it to people who actually correspond with me, either just having a laugh, or people who have given me advice or encouragement. Some of my top friends are friends in real life too. I have also chosen people whose music has touched or inspired me over the years. I've tried not to make it a gallery of famous people just to appear on my profile front page.
As I can't remember anything anymore, please leave a comment if you've just added me, so I know who my newest friends are & I can comment back after checking out your tunes.
Cheers.
