Steve Roth (Meredith Brown)

I love rock and roll with an acoustic, emotional edge which is how I try to write songs. Temptation, salvation, desire and despair are great tools and themes; something I have a lot of experience with.
I like vulnerability and tangled emotion, (but not drama). I enjoy, and try to make, music that is thoughtful art with some semblance of pop sensibility. I also like mixing things up by courting the sacred while flirting with the profane.
In 2004 I received "Top Original Acoustic Solo" award at the Buffalo Music Awards. I've also been honored with some other nominations from various publications and organizations.
I've had the privilege of opening up for national touring acts such as Bret Michaels, Jeff Bates, Adam D. Tucker, and L.A. alternative rockers, the Violet Buring. I've also been a featured artist at Goo Goo Dolls' Robby Takac's Music Is Art Festival, the Rock For Food concert to benefit the WNY Food Bank, Music is Art Live @ the Center, and the Taste of Freedom Party, held in Buffalo's historic Central Terminal.
Currently, my wife, MJ, and I are doing a lot of shows as The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter.
