DESCRIPTION:
Recently, FXpansion hooked up with Steve Levine in his Liverpool studio to chat about his recording and production techniques. In this video we look at the process of drum replacement with Logic and BFD3: extracting information from recorded drum tracks to trigger BFD3's samples which are then mixed with the original audio. BFD3's stunning kits and ambience make it easy to create a polished, high-end drum sound. Even though Logic is used in this example, similar techniques can be found in other DAWs like Pro Tools, Cubase and Reaper
Download the BFD3 session files from the Steve Levine artist page below. (You will need Logic Pro 9 or X, and BFD3 to access the project files) The audio recording stems are also available for you to play with in other DAWS if you don't own Logic and BFD3. The session was recorded at 90 BPM.
