Although the title is partly to do with my time in archaeology it is essentially a play on words.
A conjunction of a number of phrases and sayings.
A mix of the allegorical and the literal.
"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"
"See a pin and pick it up, all the day you'll have good luck; see a pin and let it lie, bad luck you'll have all day"
Have I got a bone to pick with you.
A bone of contention.
Chew the cud.
Postulate.
Pick the bones out of that !
